This is a Michael Jordan Gold Card from the Collegiate Collection Trading Card Series for North Carolina. These special Gold Cards are limited to 1000. That's right, while there are many of the `regular' Michael Jordan cards from the Collegiate Collection, only 1000 Gold Card sets were made and sold in set form only.
The cards date back to 1989 and are the gold card version of the North Carolina Collegiate Collection Series 1 Michael Jordan Cards.
This card is #65 and there are 7 different Jordan Cards in the series. You almost never see these card avaiable for sale as they are very rare, limited and scarce.
If comparing this to Jordan's 1986/87 Fleer Rookie Card, there are many times less of these than those. In fact, you can compare this card to any other Jordan cards that are over 10 years old like this one and you'll be hard pressed to find any that are more limited than this. Even the 1985 Nike Jordan card was produced in greater quantities than these.
This card has sharp corners and is in nr mt/mt condition. It will make a wonderful addition for any card collector and particularly to those that collect Michael Jordan.
